Live session #21 Agate
Recorded live session in which I discuss and show examples of the colorful mineral agate. Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony, which in turn is a variety of the mineral quartz. Featured are known growth forms of agate, in cavities/geodes in volcanic rocks and in thundereggs or lythophyses. I further show, among other things, examples of iris agate, crazy lace agate, Trümmer Achat, Botswana agate, Black Forest agate, breccie agate and the unusual angular polyhedron agate.
In live session #3, agate was already briefly discussed as one of the different types of quartz.
