Live session #19 Dangerous minerals!
Recorded live session in which I discuss risks when dealing with minerals. This is because some minerals are quite toxic or give off radioactive radiation. Therefore, when collecting or using minerals, it is important to know how to take this into account.
Which minerals, for example, are best not given to your children or used to make gemstone water? Featured are, for example, radioactive minerals such as Torbernite, Autunite and Monazite; minerals from the asbestos group such as Chrysotile, Riebeckite, Crocidolite, Serpentine and Actinolite; minerals containing heavy metals such as copper, lead and antimony, for example Malachite, Galenite and Antimonite; other risky minerals such as the lab-grown Lopezite and Chalcanthite and the arsenic-containing minerals Auripigment, Realgaar and Bumblebee Jasper.
