Live Session #12 Gypsum

Recorded live session in which I discuss and demonstrate the diversity of the mineral gypsum. I begin with a brief introduction about properties of gypsum, such as crystal shape, hardness and chemical composition. Then well-known and lesser-known varieties of gypsum pass by: alabaster and serpentine gypsum as solid forms of gypsum; satinspar; ramshorn gypsum; various forms of clear selenite, including twin crystals, Mary glass and selenite from the Netherlands; desert rose as a special growth form of gypsum. I end the session with special selenite crystals with beautiful UV reaction.
