Live session #9 Mica’s

Recorded live session in which I discuss and show minerals from the micaceous or mica group. I begin with a brief introduction about properties of micaceous minerals and their occurrence as rock-forming minerals in e.g. granite, schist and gneiss. Then well-known and less well-known glimmers pass by: chlorite, clinochlorite, kämmererite, celadonite, paragonite, margarite, polylithionite, (tetraferri)flogopite, zinnwaldite, biotite and muscovite (including the varieties fuchsite and allurgite). I end the session with a very special variety of muscovite/mica: Cherry Blossom Stone from Japan!….
